The seven-man screening committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, chaired by a former National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun in Abuja have drilled some aspirants and pronounced them fit to run.
Some of those already cleared include the former Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, Lagos State Governor, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo among others.
Speaking to journalists after the exercise, the youngest presidential aspirant under the platform of APC, Nicholas Felix, said the choice of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) means a walk over for the ruling APC.
Pastor Tunde Bakare, on his part, told Journalists that PDP is a dead party and as such not a threat.
“I have appeared before the screening committee and I am very confident in the race and said to them that I will assemble the best, brightest and fittest from within the country, North, East, South, outside the country. The time has come for us to raise the foundation for many generations, to restore the path of greatness and to ensure that our nation soars again.
The former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu accompanied by Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, as at the time of filing this report was still waiting to be screened.
