A group of non governmental organization known as Alliance for Africa, AfA, has ended a one day media workshop, organized for journalists to equipped them on accountability, anticorruption and transparency towards the 2023 election in Imo State.
The aim of the workshop was to deepen media support and commitment to maintaining objectivity in promoting professional transparency and anticorruption towards election processes.
The workshop covered the followings: meaning, pros and cons, emphasis on pros, values that enhance the quality and integrity of journalism, questions and contributions.
Speaking, the facilitator, Faith Mbaneme who was also a journalist explained to the participants the need for maintaining objectivity in promoting transparency and anticorruption during the 2023 election coverage.
She highlighted all the key points of objectivity in Journalism and how to applied it during the forthcoming general election, adding that journalists should have the courage and attribute of presenting it the way it is and should not be opinionated in carrying out their reports.
She disclosed that journalist must give a balanced reportage , while noting that they should applied the five W’s and H when writing their reports.
The parcipants who graced the workshop was able to answer questions posed on them by the facilitator as they were formed into two groups as each group presented their own contributions all geared towards maintaining objectivity in promoting transparency and anticorruption media profession towards 2023 general election.
