Chief Miguel Enwerem, the recent Frontline aspirant for Ikeduru State Constituency in Imo State under the political platform of People’s Democratic Party, PDP said he will still run for an election in 2023 despite his voluntary withdrawal from participating in the last weekend primaries of the party.
The astute politician pointed out that his withdrawal was instigated by his earliest apprehensive of gross internal irregularities which were against the tenets of democratic ethos and principles as was tactically orchestrated by some leaders of the party in the state.
Enwerem who’s the first son of late His Excellency Senator Evan Enwerem, (Mature), the second civilian governor of Imo State, one time Senate President and Ogbuhuruzo 1 na Atta said this in Owerri last Sunday while addressing media executives in the state on his next political move.
According to him” Certainly, I will run an election in 2023, for now am holding the political platform close to my chest. Am equally seriously weighing the options. Just like my father, am a firm believer in due process and total adherence to all tenets of democracy. Very soon, my campaign organization, supporters, associates and the populace will be acquainted with my latest political compass”he assured.
The youthful political icon also expressed profound gratitude to the leaders and members of his Campaign Organization, party delegates, party executives, chieftains, members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and the good people of Ikeduru State Constituency for their massive support until his timely withdrawal.
He also thanked members of his family, friends and business associates for their prayers and encouragement assuring them of God’s abundant blessings in their lives and also to carry them along in his next political journey.
While reiterating his gratitude to the good people of Ikeduru State Constituency for their unalloyed support and cooperation, he reassures them of his patriotic desire in repositioning the council area through visionary leadership and inclusive governance .
