2023 Mbaike Reps seat: Zoning arrangement must be respected  – Iwuanyanwu

By Mary Ugorji

Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Council of Elders, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has told the people of Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Local Government Areas of Imo State to respect zoning arrangements as they elect people who will occupy various public offices to meet their needs squarely.

He said the principles of zoning of elective positions in Mbaike must be kept to avoid political issues.

He added that when zoning arrangement is respected equity and justice would be enhanced among the two local government areas who have common ancestral heritage to discard dominance and vulnerability.

Iwuanyanwu stated this during the inauguration of the Constitution Drafting Committee of Mbaike Peoples Assembly held at the Glass House, Orji, Owerri, last week.

Iwuanyanwu who is the Grand Patron of Mbaike Peoples Assembly, advised Mbaike politicians seeking elective offices to discard personal interests, use their mandate to serve the people when they elect them into offices wholly.

He frowned at the rising wave of unemployment at Mbaike hence he directed the Assembly to set up a committee of prominent leaders who will ensure the speedy implementation of youth and women empowerment to reduce hardship facing the people.

Just as he instructed the committee to specifically pay attention to youths and women education, health as well as effective sustainable agricultural practices by the people, charging the leadership of the Assembly to quickly establish a secretariat and ensure judicious management of funds.

The President- General of the Assembly and former Chairman of APC in Imo State, Chief Marcillinus Nlemgbo, thanked Iwuanyanwu for his unquantified acts of charity to the needy through his Iwuanyanwu Foundation, noting that over 80 percent of jobless people within and outside the state had been offered employment.
