April 28 (Newshour.com.ng) – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, says 947,000 candidates sat for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the last two days.
The Head, Public Affairs and Protocol of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, who stated this after monitoring the ongoing UTME alongside the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede and others in Abuja, pledged that every candidate who registered for the exam would be given opportunity to take part in the exercise, as the board had resolved all technical hitches experienced on the first day of the UTME in some centres.
He described it as the best exam they have had over a period of time, in spite of what happened on Tuesday, stating that the first day is always turbulent but stabilises as the exercise progresses.
Fabian, recalled that on the first day, some candidates were unable to sit for the examination because of technical issues and JAMB rescheduled them.
He urged candidates who could not sit for the examination on the first day to continue to check their profile and print their slips as the examination had been rescheduled adding that the management will announce the results of the examination soon.
The 2023 UTME which commenced on Tuesday and is expected to end on May 3 with a total of 1.6 million registered candidates.
