July 29 (Newshour.com.ng) – Worried by the activities of scammers on those who desperately wants Nigeria International Passport, Mrs. Nkechi Ezugwu, Pcc, Fnim, the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS Imo State Command has advised all those demanding for their services should come directly to the Command and meet any of the officers or herself for their demands insisting that their doors are open to address their needs and challenges,rather than using third parties.
Ezugwu gave the advise on Saturday in her office at the Federal Secretariat Owerri while addressing news men on the State Command’s activities lined up for the Service 60th anniversary with the theme; Nigeria Immigration Service At 60: Enhancing Seamless Migration.
She informed that the Command last Friday carried out an effective strategic sensitization awareness using Igbo creative cultural identities,within and outside the Secretariat and on Sunday by 9. 30 am there will be a thanksgiving service at Assumpta Catholic Church, Owerri .
The Comptroller while soliciting for the attendance of the general public, pointed out that the grand finale of the one week event will be on Tuesday 1st of August, starting from the Federal Secretariat with match pass, cultural dances and feeding of the people by Indomie Noodles Industries and by 1 pm the entire crowd will moved down to the prestigious Banquet Hall of Golden Tulip Hotel, Port Harcourt Road Owerri for the climax of lectures, speeches, Awards of Excellence and dinner.
Ezugwu lauded the Acting Comptroller General of Immigration, CGI Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, Fsi, Pcc for her commitments to duty and welfare of the workers and pleaded for the earliest confirmation of her appointment.
She applauded the NIS for tremendous technological enhancement of her services especially e-pass and borders surveillance as equally seen in their Abuja Headquarters Technological Village Command.
The Comptroller further thumbed up her Command for quick service delivery noting that the people’s greatest demand is International Passport which officially is designated for between 3 – 6 weeks but since her inception of office as the Command Comptroller, she has ensured they delivered before the time despite challenges of high demand and production center at Enugu.
