June 16 (Newshour.com.ng) – A notable politician in Imo State and the governorship candidate of Accord, Ikenga Johnjude Okere, seeing the current trends of events going on, has called on Imolites to be politically awake and sensitive as the 2023 election draws near.
Ikenga Johnjude who disclosed this recently in a media parlay with journalists in Owerri mentioned that the solution to the present quagmire being faced in the state currently lied in the masses’ hands to correct. He argued that the people who had voting powers were ones who could make fundamental changes by teeming up to electing a credible candidate.
The Accord governorship candidate revealed that his intention for vying for governorship was to correct abnormalities ongoing in the state and remarkably *give* residents a sense of belonging as well as good and quality representation which would go a long way in effecting lives positively.
Continuing, he warned that voting out of sentiments should be eschewed if things must be gotten rightly. He maintained that people like himself with proven pedigree and capacity that could address the prevailing challenges in the state should be considered for governorship position, ahead of others.
According to him, Imo has a very unpleasant record and needs only one with the required ingenuity and courage to correct. He said a situation where the current state actors allegedly pay less heed to unwarranted waste of lives in the state as orchestrated by insecurity challenges is alarming and enough reasons to have them ousted out of office without further delay.
He therefore enjoins all Imolites to brace up and make the right choice come November as he reiterated, that as campaign is about to start in ernest they shouldn’t allow their consciences to be bought over by peanut as the handwriting being shown is crystal clear that Imolites are clamouring for a leader with positive new ideology for the state who can transform the state and restore it back to it’s former glory.
