-insist Engr Chukwu was culpable

June 20 (Newshour.com.ng) – Following failure of Engr. Francis Chukwu the General Manager of Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission, ENTRACO to respond to the allegations of extortion, harassment and intimidation leveled against him, the involved motorists have asked him to either deny the allegation or keep his mouth permanently shut in shame.
It would be recalled that barely a month after Engr Francis Chukwu was relieved of his former duty post as OCDA General Manager based on series of allegations of fraudulent acts, the newly appointed ENTRANCO GM has never relented in commissioning his boys to harass, intimidate and extort money from unsuspected motorists.
However instead of Engr. Chukwu to react on the allegations, he has continued in the dastard acts dropping names of government officials on newspaper pages accusing them of behind his current ordeals.
Investigations revealed that Chukwu has abandoned the original fine schedule between the range of #30000 to #50000 and is currently collecting cash of #350,000 to #500,000 without issuing out receipts.
A visit to the ENTRACO office along Aba Road, Owerri, on Tuesday 20th June, 2023, shown that the extortion ‘business’ is still going on as his boys are busy collecting whooping sum of money( cash) from their victims without referring them to pay into the State Single Treasury Account.
Meanwhile some of the drivers whose vehicles were impounded since a week ago are still there as Mr. Henry Chukwu and Benjamin Eyong were still hanging around the premises calling on the governor of imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma to come to their aide since the ENTRACO GM has refused to listen to their plights.
Similarly a new victim who claimed to be an ardent supporter of the ruling All Progressives Congress Government in Imo state ( name with-held) queried the relationship between functions of ENTRANCO and traffic management which is under the purview of ministry of transport He wondered why Engr. Chukwu would not be called to order especially now the governor is seeking for a second term in office.
All efforts made to hear from ENTRACO GM proved abortive as his cellphone rang severally without response
