A Nonprofit, sustainable and development Organization, Alliances for Africa in collaboration with Civil Society Legislative and Advocacy Centre CISLAC and MacArthur Foundation have constituted a coalition with community based organizations, Faith based organizations, traditional Institutions, and political parties to bring good governance to Imo State.
The group stated this during a One- Day summit organized for members of the coalition at RockView hotels, Owerri, on Tuesday.
The programme which aimed at fostering partnership and cooperation targeted at strengthening demand for Anti-Corruption, social inclusion, transparency and accountability in electoral process in Imo state come 2023 has come to stay.
Speaking after the event, the Convener and staff of Alliances for Africa, Lady Lilian Ibe said they are undertaking an Anti-Corruption project that is targeted at ensuring accountability,social inclusion, transparency and all the principles of good governance in Imo state.
” We are here to constitute a strategic coalition and we called it, partnership for good governance (PGOG) hoping that Partnership for Good Governance would help us drive the vision of having Imo state reflect the principles of good governance in all areas of Administration,” she noted.
Lady Ibe said the participants at the summit are committed through their actions to drive the process and the change that they desire especially in preparation for the 2023 elections, and hoping to elect credible leaders who would promote the principles of good governance.
She urges the electorates to come out enmasse and cast their votes as INEC being a major participant had assured that they have put things in place to ensure our votes count, adding that PVCs are out and ready for collection and that the electorates should go and collect theirs and be ready to cast their votes in 2023.
