August 11(Newshour.com.ng) – An Appeal court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday upheld Hon. Sir. Basil Maduka as the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the forth coming November 11 governorship election in Imo State.
After examinations an cross examinations, the higher court ruled in favour of the Mbaise born politician as the LP candidate  in the much anticipated Imo guber polls
Reacting to the new development, via a telephone chat, Sir Maduka, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Virgin Group, expressed optimism that he will be the next occupant of the Douglas House.
It will be recalled that the LP in Imo has been enmeshed in a post primary election crisis, leading to the emergence of four governorship candidates
However, with this new development, party faithful in the State will heave sigh of relief as their favourite choice, Maduka, who was the first aspirant to purchase nomination form, has been upheld as the authentic candidate
