As a measure to curb anti social activities being engaged by youths as occasioned by unemployment, Mr. Declean Emelumba says creating employment opportunities is one of the priority programmes of the 3 R and Shared Prosperity mantra of Imo State Government led by SenatorHope Uzodimma.
Emelumba who is the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy disclosed this while representing the Governor during the 9th Batch Graduation Ceremony of the youth empowerment programme on CCTV, Solar Panels Installation and Maintenance for Self Reliance, powered by Hope Rising for Imolites held at Hope Rising Headquarters, Akaraugo Secretariat Ogbo Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise local Government Area of Imo State.
He congratulated the graduands for their dedication and discipline throughout the two weeks of their training saying that they have been taught how to fish and have no right demanding for fish again in their lives.
According to him”Imo State Government is highly impressed with Chief Success Obioma Akagburuonye and his group for what they are doing to empower her youths to be self reliance. The State government is very much willing to partner with him and very soon, him and his technical partners will be meeting the Governor for mutual and collaborative partnership” he assured.
Earlier in his speech, Akagburuonye who’s the National President of Hope Rising for Imolites advised the state government on the strategic needs to establish Solar Energy Stations in the 3 senatorial zones of the State as a means of enhancing productivity and create job opportunities.
According to the him” this will help in the sustenance of the training programs and also create job opportunities. The world is moving towards solar and every reasonable youth and government must learn how to move on with the tide” he insisted.
While thanking God for using him as a practical instrument for touching lives through the training programmes in which 586 youths of the state have so far benefited, he once more advised the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the opportunities by being employers of labour.
Akagburuonye who described Governor Uzodimma as God’s sent and redeeming factor commended the administration for liberating the state from political and economic slavery.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the occasion include; Messrs Chidera Iwuorie, Chinoso Nwaokoro, Obinna Nkemjirika, Chibuzo Nwadikom, Godson Oluebube, Prince Sunny Akuneto, Divine Ihentuge and Kerian Onuka, they applauded Chief Akagburuonye and his group for empowering Imo youths to be self reliance.
They described the program as one of the best things that have happened in their lives and enjoined other youths to avail themselves such an opportunity.
The highlights of the occasion was the handing over of compendium of list of the beneficiaries so far to the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy on behalf of the State Government as well as presentation of certificates to the graduated trainees.
