A non-profit organization based in the United States of America, Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy (NACJD) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to desist from announcing or declaring results that was not duly signed from each polling units across the country in the last Saturday presidential and national assembly election.
The group disclosed this in a press statement it issued on Monday through it’s President and Secretary, Prof. Eddie Oparaoji and Chijike Ndukwu respectively stressing the need for INEC as an electoral umpire to do the right thing as stipulated in the 2022 electoral act as amended.
NAJCD reiterated that Nigerians
defiled all ethno-religious and environmental elements and clearly chose who they want as their President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the statement “unprecedented turnout of Nigerians during that election and the victory of the Labour Party in Lagos State is an indication that Nigerians have had enough and are prepared for a
sustainable change”
“The manipulation of the BVAS to frustrate the uploading of the already concluded figures at various Polling Units is unfortunate and will not stand!
The use of security agencies to snatch Ballot boxes or intimidate or disperse Nigerians from voting in many states is also obviously unfortunate. The Nigerian Police should be ashamed of themselves for watching as Ballot Boxes are being snatched and voters are being intimidated”
Speaking further, the Washington DC based group therefore asked INEC not to play with the future of Nigeria not minding the shortcomings of the electoral process, it also stressed that any result announced by INEC that are different from the results that INEC
refused to upload from the Polling Units on election day will not be accepted!
Professor Mahmood Yakubu; Nigeria is in your hands!
The statement also directed all Labour Party Polling Unit Agents in the last Saturday presidential election to guard their Polling Unit results jealously and also send they original results to only numbers provided by the Labour
Party or Obi-dient Movement.
NACJD which is a research and good governance advocacy non-profit organization thereby urged all Nigerians and the Obi-dients around the world in particular to be watchful, standby
and wait for further instructions stressing that Prof. Mahmood
Yakubu should not dare Nigerians!
