August 29 (Newshour.com.ng) – The founder Gospel Volunteer Force, (GVF), Evangelist Canice Okoronkwo, has opened a new Pentecostal Church, “Heavenly Glory Church” to propagate gospel for redemption of souls and service to God.
The opening ceremony Last Sunday, 27 August 2023, at Nigeria Postal Office, Amalim Iho Autonomous Community, in Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State, witnessed over six Pastors in attendance and Members of Gospel Volunteer Force, a social crusader group saddled with the responsibility of eradication of OSU/ Umeh and Diala Caste System in Igbo land, which culminated into the abolition of the dreaded social stigma on the 28 December, 2018 at Nri Anambra State.
Speaking, Evangelist Canice Okoronkwo, described the new Assembly as the fourth work of Grace of God in his life and gave the chronological steps of God’s grace upon his life including the foundation of the Gospel Volunteer Force as such through its instrumentality God was able to restore hope to the hopeless, set the captives free and abolished the caste system.
The Visionary Clergy used the opportunity to thank his new congregation, members of his family and members of the Watchman Charistmatic Church Owerri and the people of Iho for the show of love.
In the sermon, Rev Chris Nwanlem admonished the new church and the host pastor, Evg. Okoronkwo to put God first in all their activities and should center on the word of God and prayed for the growth of the new church and her members.
In a separate ministerial sessions, Pastor Okechukwu Anah and Pastor Felix Mekommam described Evang. Okoronkwo as a renowned man of God on his wisdom and tutelage have set many captives free and made a fervent prayer for the success and growth of the new church.
The highlight of the programmes was a special prayers session from the Traditional Ruler of Umuebi Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, HRH, Eze. Leo-mike Enwerem for the growth of the new church and peace in Imo State and Nigeria respectively.
