Health is wealth by Gladys Omachi

By Gladys Omachi

Rest is vital for better mental health, increased concentration and memory, a healthier immune system, reduced stress, improved mood and even a better metabolism.
It is one of the veritable ingredients that prolong life, it keeps life moving from one end to the other. Without rest man will find it difficult to achieve the desired goal in life. So the importance of resting shouldn’t be underestimated, because rest is very essential in the life of humans.
What is Rest:
Rest is when you discontinue work or activity to relax, sleep or get back strength.
It is required that you integrate rest and sleep into your everyday life. An average adult is advised to take 7 hrs of sleep each night, to encourage the body to function effectively.
Rest and sleep are two different things but they are important to physical, cognitive, and emotional health.
Employers should introduce lunch breaks and brief breaks in their organization to enable their employees to ease stress.
Because workers who take a moment away from work to rest snap back to work with more cognitive vitality and productivity.
An employer or employee should always find a moment and rest after each working hour.
You can start by discovering a relaxation approach that works for you.
You can read,
Watch TV,
Meditate
Listen to an informative podcast
Concentrate on your hobby
Offer yourself a treat 💯
Hang out with a friend
Exercise a little or
Listen to music etc.
All these will help enhance your productivity the next day or week.

What rest does to the body
🎯Rest allows you to be more active and productive.
🎯Rest facilitates your immune system.
🎯Rest enhances your sleep quality.
🎯 Rest reduces stress.
🎯Rest helps you get more mental energy.
🎯Rest makes your memory sensitive and inventive.
What will happen to you when your body is not getting sufficient rest?
📌 You will be visually exhausted.
📌 You will have frequent feelings of uneasiness.
📌 You will always feel cranky.
📌 You will lack concentration and focus.
📌 Signs of depression will set in.
📌Your body’s immunity will be vastly affected.
📌 It might trigger health problems like heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, obesity, etc.
To avoid all these from happening, always take a moment and rest.
Getting sufficient sleep and rest is fundamental for sustaining optimal health and well-being.
Always take a break out of your busy schedule and rest to avoid a total shutdown of your body system.
Remember health is wealth, you have to be alive
