Heartland FC unveil players …Launches operation return club back to premiership

As a strategic means of showing her preparedness towards the commencement of the 2023 Nigeria National League, NNL, the Imo State oriental darling football club, Heartland FC, Owerri has unveiled her star studded players recruited to frontally prosecute the tough but abridged league.

The well attended media event which happened on Thursday at Dan Anyiam International Stadium, Owerri in which Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports described the event as a historical rebirth of new Heartland FC as envisioned by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Okoronkwo informed that the State Government has resolved to throw in her weight behind the club in providing the basic needs that would enable them achieve the State’s great expectations from them.

He advised the team on the need for dedication and commitment in the vision of returning the club back to premiership while commending the management for their patriotism and enjoined them not to relent.

Earlier in his speech, Mr. Promise Nwachukwu, the General Manager of the Club said that the mission and vision of the team is in total pursuit of the mantra ” Operation Bring Back Heartland FC To Nigeria Premier Football League,NPFL”.

Nwachukwu who applauded the Commissioner and further described him as” sports administrator par excellence. Humane with passion and compassion for the team’s welfare”.

He thanked Governor Uzodimma for assigning the Ministry to the Commissioner insisting that he has transformed sports in the state through motivations and commitment.

The unveiled players to be captained by Nnaemeka Anyanwu, never say die defender were Jeremiah Ndukwe, defensive midfield maestro, Anthony Okomili, an utility player from Abia Warriors, Umuahia, Tunde Franklin Oyewole from Sunshine FC, Akure, Onyekachi Okafor, a deadly striker from Alisaman of Oman, Chukwujekwu Onuoha, a central defender from Nnewi United, Fabian Omaka, ace attacking midfielder from Enyimba FC, Aba and Udeozor Ikechukwu, a left full back from Nnewi United FC.

Others include Bright John Chimezie, save hand from Dakkada FC, Uyo, Afolayo Dino from Dino Sporting Club, Abuja, Julius Gideon, sensitive midfielder from Akwa United, Arum Chukwuebuka Kingsley, top striker from Amanda FC, Chibuzo Ekeocha, a graduated striker from Heartland FC, feeder team, Victor Wohuruche, trusted midfielder from Goal Round FC, Omoku, Chisom Chiagha, goalkeeper from Rangers International FC, Enugu and Edwin Nwakanma another good goal keeper from Calabar Rovers FC.
