The member representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Eddy Obinna may be re elected for another tenure of four years from available indices .since his re emergence after the primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC, goodwill messages have continued to pour in him by his constituents who are over joyed and excited at his emergence at the party primaries.
Recall that Hon Obinna popularly called Ochudo by his people is the first person to win a primary election back to back in the area.As a follow-up to his success at the primaries and in what appears to be a show of solidarity, he was recently conferred with a chieftaincy title as the Ezienyi 1 of the Amuzu Nwenkwo autonomous community in the area.
Reacting to these developments, Hon Obinna told journalists at his country home that he has earned the love, support and respect he commands in his constituency by his conduct and personality. He said having impacted on his people as an individual businessman, he had also wished to further impact on them the more through any government office which he said prompted him to heed to the call to go and represent them in the State Assembly. .He said his re election during the primaries did not surprise him as he has worked for re election and thanked the party delegates for believing in him and also his constituents for their support. Investigation revealed that it will be an uphill task for any contender to defeat Hon Obinna in the area owing to his political and technical aptness, sagacity, meek and humble nature and also the intimidating relevance he presently enjoys in the entire area. We also gather that Hon Obinna has won the People’s heart by his magnanimity, personality and his very unique empowerment programmes. Also recalled that over 15 cars and 100 motorcycles were distributed during his last empowerment programme. These were in addition to sewing machines, hair dressing equipments, bags of rice, wrappers including tentage for shops and also scholarships to some students in the area. Beneficiaries of his largesse have all become fanatical disciples of the man while most of his constituents have personally undertaken to sustain house to house campaigns for him to ensure he returns to the State Assembly.
However, the Aboh Mbaise LGA APC youth leader,Hon. Ogechi Ebegu stated that Hon. Obinna has no rival and remained a good “market” for APC.
