Owerri, April 24 (Newshour.com.ng) – The overwhelming majority of Imo people, including residents, have made it a slogan that the November 11, 2023 governorship election is one which much liberate the Heart Eastern state.
To this effect, the electorate have vowed that they would do everything politically possible as guaranteed by the law, to ensure they have elect a credible candidate who will make the state a land of development.
Going by what the masses have been conjecturing, they are insisting on a candidate with competence, character, capacity, courage and vision. The electorate are looking towards a candidate who will do the unusual and uncommon things, totally away from the normal as currently constituted.
Taken together, the candidate who fits into the above demands of the electorate is the Accord governorship standard bearer, Ikenga Johnjude Okere. He is prudent, even as he is also resourceful. As one of those who took the Obidient Movement of Labour Party and His Excellency, Peter Gregory Obi’s campaign to the nook and cranny of Imo State, he technically fits into the objectives which made the LP presidential candidate very credible and appealing to wit: competence, character and capacity. Thus, he is firm and bold – he will not shrink away from the challenges of the time.
Ikenga Johnjude Okere has promised to make use of land as his most enabling point of achievement.
According to him, “Any country has developed must have completed making use of the three aspects of functionality of land. That is, housing for decent accommodation., agriculture to effectively feed the people., and industrialization for massive employment to fight joblessness.
“For this three Issues to be a success, we shall also make sure we tackled bad road network, squarely. Road is also an aspect of land matter.
“When we complete this, insecurity will disappear because there will be jobs for the teeming youths just as our SET programme (Spots Entertainment and Tourism) will equally keep the youths busy. Thus will also tackle joblessness and put a stop to the current brain drain around our world, and from there, many other things will follow”.
Those who know Ikenga Johnjude say he is one with contact and connections to lure investors to the state in order for Imo State to fly again.
