May 10 (Newshour.com.ng) – As Imo people are waiting fervently to have a positive turnaround in governance in the state on the November 11, 2023 governorship election, the electorate have given reasons they would dump all the other candidates for the Accord party ticket bearer, Ikenga Johnjude Okere.
A shop owner at the popular Afor Ogbe Market in Ahiazu Local Government Area, Ndubuisi Akanna, said Ikenga Johnjude Okere brings new touches, new ideas and an absolute fresh innovations never ever before being heard of in the state.
“So far, I have been enjoying his submissions on politics and governance which he has based on his character, capacity and competence”, he noted.
In his submission, Obi Njoku, an estate dealer in Amaifeke in Orlu LGA revealed that Imo State had been unlucky when it involved having a committed governor.
According to him, “This is a time for a drastic democratic change in Imo State. For a long time in our journey to greatness as a state, we have had accidental governors who manipulate the electoral process for thier own victory and not for the masses. However, we are going to make that change in this November, with the election of Ikenga Johnjude as the next Imo State governor.
“The reason for this is very simple: We are rooting for equity, justice and fairness. Orlu Zone has ruled for 20 years out of the 24 years of this democracy. Okigwe Zone has just had four years. But Owerri Zone is only seven months. And in Owerri Zone, the most cheated is Ngor Okpala. Ikenga Johnjude hails from Ngor Okpala and this is a huge plus”.
Again, as Bright Ilobi of Ehime Mbano put it, Ikenga Johnjude brings with him what he called “solving the Imo peculiar problem”. “With this in mind, he will fight corruption, joblessness, insecurity even as he has also promised to use sports, entertainment and tourism to create jobs, attract tourism to Imo and develop local economy via revenue drive”, he enthused.
