Imo State Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu has hinted that Governor Hope Uzodimma was on a road revolution mission in the state.
Ralph Nwosu stated this in his office while fielding questions from a group of journalist who paid him a courtesy call in his office.
The Works Commissioner maintained that the administration of Uzodimma was determined to effectuate a purposeful leadership where consultative and constructive engagements of critical stakeholders remain paramount, adding that the two years in office of Governor Uzodimma’s administration and his stewardship interface with leaders of thought across the state, further proved his leadership prowess, as well as his intentions to give the best of democratic governance, with accountability in practice to Imo people.
The Commissioner stressed that government has prioritized roads infrastructure, in line with her reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery agenda, with a view of rewriting the narrative on state of roads in Imo.
He however reiterated that the yearnings and aspirations of Imo people will be desirously met, as it concerns roads construction, noting that government understands the pains of her people.
He listed some of the roads that are currently receiving accelerated attention to include; MCC/URRATTA ROAD UPTO TORONTO, NAZE-NEKEDE-IHIAGWA-OBINZE-ROAD, NAZE/EGBU ROAD, WORLD BANK/UMUGUMA ROAD.
He said other critical roads are having an appreciable facelift, if not nearing completion. He however revealed that government has undertaken and commenced the construction of underground tunnel, traversing from Works Layout to Rapour Hotel Road, DSS Road and empties into Nwaorie River,
The Commissioner stressed that the decision became inevitable on government due to the flooding challenges facing the residents of the area and noted that the 4.5km underground tunnel upon completion will permanently give a solution to the flooding menace being witnessed every year within those environs.
Ralph Nwosu further emphasized on collective support to Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration, as the administration was resolutely poised for a better, peaceful and prosperous Imo, stressing that the ongoing road revolution in the state upon completion, will boost the economic development and growth of the state economy.
The Commissioner therefore used the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma on his two years administration of outstanding achievements and audacious service to humanity and prayed God for better year’s ahead, with good health and long life, as he navigate the affairs of the state on the wheels of shared prosperity.
