Senator Anyanwu warns Govt Agencies on abuse of citizen’s rights

By Ori Martins

Politicians of today, on daily basis, play back the scripts of the biblical Judas Iscariot as well as Shakespeare’s Brutus. Both are condemnable and abominable instances of betrayals.

In Imo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, nothing really dramatizes the true meaning of Brutus and Judas Iscariot’s spirit and mannerism of blackmail, backstabbing and betrayal than the actions as well as inactions of the national secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu otherwise known as Samddady against former governor, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

Samddady was sectionally trapped as an Ikeduru LGA local champion whereupon he had served as the council chairman and subsequently, Imo House of Assembly member, representing the area.

In a most dramatic display of political elevation never ever before witnessed in the Nigerian landscape, Samddady, overnight, made a quantum leap from Imo House of Assembly to the National Assembly as a distinguished senator representing Owerri Zone uncommonly referred to Imo East Senatorial Zone.

It was Engineer (Chief) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who had approached Ihedioha and urged him to support as well as carry Samdaddy along in order for the latter to realize his senatorial ambition. Ihedioha as a listening leader and one who always wants to credible successors, discussed this heavy political request of Iwuanyanwu alongside other Owerri zone leaders and agreed to go ahead with the Samddady senatorial vaulting ambition.

Of course, Samddady, after his victory at both the primary and main elections, immediately turned his back to Ihedioha, particularly in the 2015 governorship election. The result clearly indicated that Samddady notoriously worked against Ihedioha – he was handsomely successful in his ward while Ihedioha failed abysmally.

Ever since then, Samddady, like both Brutus and Judas Iscariot, has been fighting Ihedioha, not genuinely, but by means of blackmail, backstabbing and betrayal. Like Brutus, he had delivered several brutal and deadly stabs on Ihedioha without success.

Also like Judas Iscariot, Samddady has made betrayal his article of faith as long as issues about Ihedioha are concerned.

During the Markafi / Sheriff tiff for the soul of national PDP, Samddady, against wise and popular counsel, pitched his tent with the destructive elements of the party and opened a machine gun fireworks against Ihedioha and the law abiding members of the umbrella party.

Expectedly, his monstrous Sheriff group lost the battle. Most of them left for APC, including the serving Imo State governor and his followers. Samddady was among those who stayed in PDP.

Rather than working harmoniously with Ihedioha for the progress, stability and success of Imo State PDP, Samddady has always recklessly worked for his own selfish interest at the expense of the party.

This fact was once again demonstrated to be true in 2019. Samddady, instead of putting things down on how to go back to the senate, in a horrific and horrendous warlike gyration, indicated his interest in the governorship ticket. He contested against Ihedioha on October 1, 2018 and lost.

Thereafter, he commenced another round of attack against PDP and Ihedioha by going to the tribunal, court of appeal and ultimately the supreme court (seeking to nullify the result of the PDP governorship election) where lost in all rounds.

At that point, he teamed up with then Governor Rochas Okorocha from where he worked with APC for the realization of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s governorship ambition. All in an attempt to destroy Ihedioha and by extension Imo PDP. That chemistry could not produce the desired result as INEC declared Ihedioha winner of the 2019 Imo State governorship election.

Shockingly and absolutely irritatingly, the supreme court sacked Ihedioha on January 14, 2020 and Samddady commenced his fresh romance with Governor Hope Uzodimma directed against Ihedioha and Imo PDP.

Their infantile agreement is for Samddady to continue his crazy and dubious assignment against Ihedioha and PDP to pave way for the serving governor who will consequently hand over to him after completing his eight years in 2028.

If Samddady takes exception to the foregoing, he should be asked to explain why he has been attacking Ihedioha and Imo PDP. Why did he take the PDP up the supreme court in order to nullify the last congress in the state?

The national secretary should provide answers to why he is working at cross purposes with the duly constituted Imo State PDP executives. And in addition, why did Samddady and his cohorts go to the national headquarters of PDP in Abuja to ask for the sack of Imo PDP executives?

Had the national leaders of the party listened to Samdaddy and his PDP traducers, Imo State chapter of the party would have been in chaos now and the unexpected would have been happening.

Last month when the presidential candidate of PDP, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came to Imo to flag off his campaign, why did Samddady and his illegitimate naysayers worked so hard to stop it?

And as the Imo State chapter of the party flagged off its campaign at Ahiazu Mbaise LGA last Friday, why was Samdaddy and his noisy fanclub bands missing from that colorful event?

Lastly, for about a month now, the duo of Evangelist Myke Ikoku/Ikokwu and Hon Greg Egu have been regaling Imo audience with atrocious lies against Ihedioha. Of course, these two men are Samdaddy’s right-hand men.

If he says he not working for APC and Uzodimma against Atiku, can he, in honesty, distance himself from these political jesters who are looking for “something to chop?”

The national leaders of PDP must get it right: the greatest enemies of Imo PDP today are Samdaddy and his two allies namely Myke Ikoku and Greg Egu. They should be called to order.

Like Brutus and Judas Iscariot who ended tragically following thier respective failures in hacking down thier targets, Samdaddy may as well toe thier ways of tragic end if he does change his political pattern – it is not too late, yet.
