There was wide jubilations as Hon Christian Kelechi Njemanze emerged unopposed for Owerri zone senate seat at the just concluded Action People’s Party”s (APP) primaries.
The event which held at Imo NUJ Press Centre Port Harcourt road Owerri on Tuesday was done peaceably without rancour or acrimony.
Speaking to newsmen after the event, the director general of the Njemanze campaign organization, Hon. Obinna Ikechi thanked the delegates and the party for electing his principal, Hon Christian Njemanze as the standard bearer of the Action People’s Party APP for Owerri zone senate and for the consensus arrangement vis-a-viz the affirmation which has brought him to represent the party in the forth coming election in 2023 for Imo East senatorial zone. He promised that Njemanze would defeat his opponents from other political parties; adding that Njemanze has stood out as the best among his mates and that he is optimistic and sure through the help of God that Njemanze would win to represent Owerri zone at the red chambers. Mr Obinna however dedicated the victory to Almighty God.
Also speaking, the state chairman of the Action People’s Party APP, Hon. Ezirim Ernest said his party APP has just concluded its primaries successfully adding that most of its candidates were returned unopposed without infighting, rancour or acrimony . He stated that APP has come to stay in Nigeria and ready to face the upcoming general elections in 2023 and that his candidates would come out successful. He however calls on well meaning Nigerians to join APP as long as they can abide on the rules which is mainly to contribute to a better Nigeria with a strong economy.
The event was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, security agents and members of media.
