The newly inaugurated chairman of Land Use Committee in Imo state, Sir. Barr. Innocent Ezeananu Oguaju-Dike has vowed not to step on anyone’s toes unnecessarily in the process of sanitizing the land allocation system in the state.
He stated this while addressing Journalists immediately after their swearing – in ceremony by Governor Hope Uzodinma at the Imo state government house Owerri, weekend.
Barr. Oguaju-Dike, a lawyer of more than 30 years standing, stated that the Owerri Master plan and land allocations have been balkanized and that they have come to harmonize and sanitize the system, adding that his committee would take a whollistic view of whatever has been damaged . He noted that their aim is to harmonize the illegal structures, property on wrong environment, revalidation of already issued Cof Os etc and with human face.
Sir Oguaju- Dike reaffirmed that Governor Hope Uzodinma is not interested in grabbing lands belonging to the state, adding that he shares same ideology with him not to use government power to convert public property to private use and unjust allocation of lands to oneself and cronies.
He said,” In the process of revalidation, if we discover that you built a house in a place where you are not supposed to build , such building will be removed.”
The newest chairman of Land Use Committee stated that he is competent in handling the assignment and was not surprised when the governor appointed him.
” I will not step on anybody’s toes unnecessarily but can do so necessarily,” he averred.
