From Everest Ezihe, Ahiara Mbaise
May 16 (Newshour.com.ng) – Barr. Success Akagburuonye has identified the spirit of ingratitude as a major characteristics that hinders men from obtaining God’s blessings and cautioned people to learn how to appreciate God and good men as a strategic means of obtaining divine upliftment in all their life endeavors.
Akagburuonye who’s the founder and National Coordinator of a non governmental organization, Hope Rising For Imolites, a subsidiary of Global Support for Nigeria, revealed this during a well attended spirit filled church service hailed in his honour by, The Divine Deliverance Mission International, Nnarambia Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, in which a Distinguished Award of Excellence was bestowed on him by the church, in appreciation of his philanthropic gestures to humanity.
The Legal icon who spoke fluently in Igbo language using ancient Mbaise indigenous dialect justified his admonish with the biblical Jesus Christ healing of the ten lepers and only one can to show gratitude and Jesus Christ asked” were you not ten ? Where are others? And for this, you have been made whole”.
Quoting biblical Mark 11 vs 24 and Proverb 17 vs 10, he also advised people on the need to always redeem their pledges, promises and be pestitent in payment of tithe noting these as gate ways of provoking God’s abundant blessings upon humanity.
Akagburuonye who cherished his chieftaincy title as Akaraugo 1 of Mbaise, intermittently reeled out old melodious but emotionally driven christian songs while dancing the biblical David dance, in appreciation of God’s grace upon his life and that of his family, with tears of joy rolling down his cheeks as he narrated how God out of His infinite Mercy and Grace, seeing his good heart, liberated him and his family from people of abject poverty and community mockery to pillars of glory and philanthropy.
He pointed out that, one of his greatest happiness in life, despite the litany of woes he has faced, is that, God is his source of wealth and nobody should take poverty as a choice and further advised people to always say what they know because there’s God and retributive justice.
Akaraugo Mbaise who’s also a staunched member of Assemblies of God church Garki, Abuja with goose pimples further recalled an incident that happened in his life in 1980 when he was just 14 years old in his Ogbor Uvuru ancestral community, when some people in his community conspired and beat up his home Pastor of Assemblies of God Church, simply because, the man demanded that an entrance should be created to enable his members to attend the church services because the church then was behind a person’s land.
That he cried like a baby witnessing the humiliation and was emotionally devastated, out of the pains in his heart, he consciously made a prophetic declaration, that in life if he gets money that he will buy that land for the church and in 2003 the prophecy was fulfilled as he bought the land one million Naira (1,000,000=) without negotiation and built a worshipping paradise on earth edifice for the church which was commissioned and dedicated by Rev Uma Ukpai.
Akagburuonye also recalled with nostalgia how in 1999 out of mere jealousy, envy and perceived hatred, Alhaji Nasiru El-Rufia, the present day Kaduna State Executive Governor and then Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja conspired with some alleged top evil men in power levelled false allegations that bordered on Abuja, FCT land grabbing and racketeering using false documents.
He proudly announced that after years of legal battles he was declared innocent and Almighty God took all the glories because, “the weight of every allegation is weighed by the source” he informed.
Earlier, the Presiding Bishop of the church,Rev. Dr. Ben Ahaneku assisted by Pastor James Onyeneke officiated the Holy Spirit filled church service in which his sermon was centered on, By His Grace saying it’s God’s divine grace that differentiates a person from one another.
Ahaneku insisted that any body that lacks God’s grace, labours in vain because the battle is not for he that willeth nor he that runneth nor is it by might or strength but with Grace every mountain is levelled for the children of God to prevailed.
He said it point-blank that the man they are honouring, Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye is a man of implicit grace and favour and a servant of Most High God quoting Philippians 4 vs 19, Romans 9 vs16 and 1 Cornithians 15 vs 10 and asked the congregation to pray that henceforth God should cancel every disgrace in their lives to grace.
The man of God passionately advised the congregation to be wary of men of grace assuring that a day of grace is more than a life time of struggles.
One of the highlights of the occasion was testimonies of good life and philanthropic gestures of Chief Akagburuonye whose abridged intimidating profile was read by Pastor Mrs. Rose Ben Ahaneku, the wife of the presiding Bishop.
Akagburuonye used the occasion to abundantly blessed the church and her members, he started by blessing 5 women in the church who are suffering diabetes by given them 400k ( four hundred thousand Naira) for their treatment, extended similar gesture to all University students of the church present and for the church pastors (9 of them) and the impressive choir, it was mouth watering Naira rain.
Other groups that heavily received his benevolence philanthropy are the youth and women traders just as the women group. It’s was thunderous clap offering when the Bishop announced that the church has received an alert for the 500k he announced as a donation to the church, similarly some of the philanthropic beneficiaries also acknowledged receipt of life changing alert from the man of destiny and there was intermittent shouts of praised the Lord !.
It was another emotionally ridden thanks giving and worship as Hon. Chika Emedo, Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Special Adviser (SA) on Imo College of Advanced Professional Studies, ICAPS moved by the spirit located 8 year old primary 4, Nkwachukwu Ajuzieogu and promised to train the boy henceforth till he graduated from any University of his choice.
However, it was another moment of emotional joy and happiness when Akagburuonye pleaded with the church for prayers, for God to uplift him politically so that he could be an instrument for empowering more people, he humbly threw himself on the altar despite his dressing and the pastors surrendered him in chain and together with the congregation, heaven was proudly opened and the prayers divinely answered.
