It was a funfair as friends, journalism colleagues, well- wishers, family members, wife and children of Chief Bright Chimezie were engrossed in happiness as they celebrate God’s faithfulness and favour in the life of the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Horn Newspapers, Owerri, as he marked his 48th years birthday anniversary.
Chief Bright Chimezie is known to be a cheerful giver who had empowered so many people at his community who are living well today. He is also using his media outfits to add values to the society.
The event which took place last week at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, saw traditional rulers, top politicians, journalists, business gurus and relatives across board gracing it. There was live band, special song rendition by Deacon Chike Okafor, member representing Obowo, Ihitte-Uboma, Ehime Mbano Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, that chilled and entertained the audience. There was also the cutting of cake witnessed by publishers of various newspapers and vendors in Imo State which added more aura to the celebration.
Speaking with journalists after the event, the celebrant, Chief Bright Chimezie, nostalgically narrated that “during Oso Abiola, I was at Samara, Zaria, schooling. I needed to go back to Lokoja to join my people down to the East. I needed just small money. I went round to all my friends and I was disappointed. I had to go to the church where midweek service was on. The church raised N150 after I expressed my need, although it was not enough, I had to join 911 vehicle which was carrying goods as onions. The vehicle spoilt ten times on the road before we got to Lokoja. I came back smelling onion. So, if not because of the church donation, I would not have returned home. Hence I cannot do without God. Being a man of grace, God has been so faithful to me, assisting me from one level to the other. This year’s birthday is very special, you must be wondering, hey”.
He noted that “I founded a foundation not because the money is there, but for God’s faithfulness and mercy where my 10% income goes to as tithe. I therefore urge you to work harder because there is a reward in hardwork, and of course putting God first in all your dealings pays good”.
The humanitarian who added that God has given him a sign to go back to politics, said he would honor God’s word and go back to active politics as an Obident Son to add more value to humanity, as he charged all eligible voters to go and get PVC to enable them make a positive change of government and governance for their own advantage.
Earlier in an interview, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, member who represents Nwangele, Nkwerre, Isu, Njaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, identified Bright Chimezie as a man of many accomplishments, who is devotedly serving the public in various dignifying capacities in Imo State, thanking God for the gift of the celebrant to humanity.
Ozuruigbo added that it was good to get it right at the right time, stressing that his people would not give him their mandate if he was not representing them well, stating that he defected to another party and within three months he was given a ticket, giving God all the glory and prayed God to help him continue doing good for his people, saying he would like to be remembered for the good things he has done for humanity and society.
