A Frontline politician and former Transition Committee Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, Hon. Nze Joseph Amaechi Agor has formerly declared to run for the seat of the Honourable member representing Owerri Municipal Council in the Imo state house of Assembly.
Hon Agor while addressing the crowd of APC faithful he gathered at Tetlow road Owerri on Wednesday said his interest to run is not for self aggrandizement but to render purposeful leadership to Owerri Municipal people, unite the people and create jobs for the youths. He noted that he has done it before as a councillor, supervisor and a local government chairman adding that he will do it again if given the opportunity.
Hon Agor noted that the massive support he is enjoying today was as a result of his past performances and his impact on the people of Owerri.
The Divine Mandate candidate and the All Progressives Congress aspirant for the 2023 house of Assembly seat said he would carry everybody along if elected and would use his wealth of experiences to bring home the dividends of democracy to his people. He commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for his massive infrastructural development in Owerri Municipal and beyond and promised to make law that will develop Owerri City.
In his speech, the All Progressives Congress Owerri Municipal Council chairman, Hon. Onyekachi Ibezim said Hon Nze Joe Agor is well qualified for the position from the CV he read out to them but noted that APC can only support any candidate that emerges after the primaries adding that there will be a level playing ground for all aspirants of the party and urged the aspirants to keep mobilising support for themselves and the party.
” We shall have a level playing ground for all aspirant and would support the best candidate that emerges.”
Hon Ibezim thanked Hon Nze Joe Agor for mobilising support for the All Progressives Congress as seen from the crowd present at the event and urged him to do more as the end will justify the means. He urged all APC delegates to elect the best candidate from the aspirants so that the party will have a good product to face other parties during the general elections.
One of the elders in the Municipal who did not want his name on print said Nze Joe Agor has done very well for the people. He noted that Nze Joe Agor is a grass root politician who has impacted positively in the life of the people and should be voted for in the upcoming election. He said, Nze Joe is a good man, down to earth and supports the poor and the needy in the society.” Nze Joe will deliver if elected,” he noted.
