The Obibi Urratta autonomous community, Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State, has coronated Boniface Iheanacho Ariri as new Eze.
Performing the coronation ritual which took place at the community Central Primary School, Chairman of Owerri Zone Council of Ndieze, HRH, Eze Dr. Akujiobi Osuagwu, noted that the community and the government approved the leadership of Eze Ariri and declared that further contest should stop.
Eze Osuagwu told the new Eze to extend olive branch to his opponents, as well as carry his subjects along, wishing the community well.
Speaking, the Sole Administrator of Owerri North Council, Barr. Tony Umezuruike, thanked God for the peaceful coronation and the spectacular environment experienced at the ceremony even as he told the new Eze to ensure that peace reigns supremely while accommodating every loyal person at his domain.
Adding his voice, the apex leader of Uratta and Chairman of the occasion, Prince Lemmy Akakem, expressed happiness for the restoration of peace at the community which he said was divine.
With the Chairman, Imo State Civil Service Commission, Dr. Julie Onyeukwu, extolling Governor Hope Uzodimma for handling the Ezeship tussle amicably that resulted to the peaceful coronation of Ariri as Eze of Obibi Uratta.
Commenting, a governorship aspirant who hails from the community, Barr. Charles Onyeagbako, reflected that the area has been peaceful hence it needs someone who will strengthen the peace for even development.
Speaking also, the APC candidate for federal constituency, Hon. CDB Chijioke Williams commended the Governor for restoring peace in Obizi Urratta community as well as the Eze to carry everyone along and maintain peace in the land.
However, the newly crowned traditional ruler, HRH, Eze Boniface Iheanacho Ariri, thanked God for the honour given to him and pledged to rule the people with love and the fear of God.
Ariri begged the people to always give their support to the development of the community, calling on his opponents to embrace peace.
