May 9 (Newshour.com.ng) – The governorship candidate of Accord party, for the November 11, 2023 Imo State election, Ikenga Johnjude Okere, in a press briefing has made it known to Imolites that he was well prepared to take over the Douglas House as he believed doing that, would enable him save the state from the hands of alleged perpetrators of evil, particularly insecurity.
In his speech,he made mention that it’s no longer news that for a while now Imo State had been ranking tops in issues that had to do with insecurity which was a clear indication, that the head was weak and bereft of measures that could be used to curb all these unwholesome happenings in the state .
The Accord governorship candidate lamented seriously, that it is indeed disheartening to see how the state on a daily basis keeps loosing its credibility in the eyes of others based on headlines as a result of insecurity challenges where lots of lives and property have been lost.
Continuing,he vehemently lamented that the continous attack on Innocent citizens without governor Hope Uzodinma looking into the matter deeply depicts that Imo needs a leader who would always place them and their priority first before other things for Uzodinma’s reaction to all that has been happening shows, that he is not worthy to remain on that seat nor willing to restore the state back to it’s lost glory and so,his best bet is to vacate the seat for a better person to occupy.
According to him, Imo has a very ugly record which needs to be changed and corrected which can only be done by a man like me , who feels the pain of the people and is so desirous to salvage the state from the alleged blueprintless government which imposed itself on the people.
I am very optimistic that a new Imo that would be very impactful to all would emerge come Nov 11,2023 gubernatorial election and at that point, every abnormality would be corrected and the people would jubilate”
Trumpeta learnt, that he has presented himself to be a servant leader who wouldn’t play with security of life and property of the people, he would ensure that peace and order prevails and also would be a leader with listening ears for smooth running of the government .
