Saturday polls: Ekewulonu, Ndubueze, Miriam, Chikwem, Onwubuariri, Osuji, Iwueze, others flex muscles on Oduezi Okigwe debate

By Ifeanyi Iheakanwa

Candidates from various political parties of Okigwe zone extraction including the PDP candidate for senatorial seat, Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu and his APC counterpart, Hon. Patrick Ndubueze, have presented their manifesto to the youths of Okigwe zone in a recent debate.

In a debate organized by concerned youths of Okigwe zone tagged ‘Oduezi Okigwe’ at City Chef bar Owerri, the candidates spoke in turns about their readiness for the Saturday general elections.

While the PDP candidate for Okigwe senatorial seat, Emma Okewulonu claimed to be the beautiful bride of the zone, the APC candidate, Patrick Ndubueze insisted that the seat was reserved for him long ago.

Similarly, the member representing Okigwe/Isiala-mbano/Onuimo, Hon. Miriam Onuoha, in an interview, described his opponents as nothing lose sleep over, boasting that she has won them before and will still win anytime, anyday.

The APC candidate said her legislative records within the shortest possible period has placed her on the path of victory and endeared her to the people.

Speaking also, the Labour Party candidate for Okigwe North Federal House of Representatives in Saturday election, Hon. Chikwem Onuoha, spoke boastfully of his Sterling leadership qualities which he had exhibited during his time as a former Chief of Staff to a former governor of Imo state.

He further described his political antecedents and humanitarian services to the people as part of his success story in the Saturday elections.

He urged the Okigwe North electorates to vote massively for the Labour Party candidates including himself and Mr. Peter Obi, whom he said, has been destined to be the next President of Nigeria.

In the same vein, the PDP candidate for Okigwe North Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Obinna Onwubuariri, while fielding questions from newsmen, said that the Green Chamber of the National Assembly needs an experienced person like him for better results.

Onwubuariri who represented the federal constituency from 2015-2019, reiterated his resolve in driving the constituency to a higher legislative level, calling on the electorates to massively vote for him.

He reminded Okigwe electorates of the need to produce a ranking officer at the National Assembly and that, according to him, can only be achieved by his reelection.

At the Imo state House of Assembly level, Hon. Sam Osuji of Isiala-mbano APC said that his peoples overflowing love for him will see him to victory on the 11th of March.

He claimed that APC is rooted in Isiala-mbano and must cruise home with victory.

The APGA candidate for Ehime-mbano state constituency, Hon. Kelechi Iwueze, in an interview, expressed confidence of victory in the March 11th polls.

He said that he had toured round the nooks and crannies of Ehime-mbano and by virtue of his position as a former LGA chairman and former legislative aide, he has wealth of experience to bring to bare if he is voted into office.

The Chief organizers of Oduezi Okigwe, Hon. Barr. Chijioke Onwubuariri and Comrade Chidiebube Okeoma, described the outing as it’s maiden edition, insisting that it would be sustained at all costs.

According to them, “Oduezi Okigwe is a platform created by well meaning individuals of like minds form Okigwe zone extraction which serves as a platform in accessing past, serving and incoming political servants of Okigwe extraction, be it elective or appointive.”
