Support police to curb violence, terrorism attacks and cultism, PCRC National Chairman charges Anambra peoples

By Princess-Ekwi Ajide, Abuja

May 19 (Newshour.com.ng) – The Police Community Relations Committee, (PCRC), has asked Ndi Anambra to support the police in its efforts to curb the continuous violence, terrorism attacks and cultism in Anambra and the country at large.
The National Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan, made the plea, while condemning what he termed “callous attack” on a United States Consulate convoy and lingering warring factions of the Committee in Anambra.
The attack on US convoy at Atani Osamala Road, in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the State according to reports led to the killing, burning beyond recognition of seven (7) persons including US Embassy local staff and Police Mobile Force Officers, and their vehicles, and abduction of two (2) others.
The National Chairman of PCRC, had led the national executive team on the reconciliation move, and after hearing from all affected parties at a closed door meeting held at the state police headquarters hall, Amawbia, asked everybody to sheath their sword and work in harmony with one another.
To this end, he extended the tenure of the incumbent state chairman of the committee, J. C. Ezenwankwo to December, this year and appointed Sir Vic Agubisi, Chairman of PCRC, Onitsha Police Area Command
He announced that a new automated Identity Cards would be issued to members to invalidate all existing identity cards in possession of members throughout the federation.
Responding, Agubisi who felt elated for the wisdom exhibited by the national chairman in resolving the lingering crisis in Anambra PCRC, even when he is only about six or seven month old in office, conferred a chieftaincy title of Agunechemba 1 of Igbo land.
The State Chairman, Chief Ezenwankwo, on his part, praised Inhaheem for his vision and timely intervention in the resolution of the misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, PCRC, has extended financial assistance to the family of Sergeant Ochoa Isaiah of Enugu state command, whose wife recently gave birth to a set of triplets, two boys and a girl.
A statement signed by the SSA Media and Publicity, Office of the National Chairman,
Comrade Kunle Sodipo, disclosed that the reconciliation team had earlier stormed Ebonyi state, reconciled their differences before coming to Anambra,
The statement notes Ibraheem who had shortly on arrival, paid a courtesy call on the state Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng, urged everyone to carry the PCRC interest above what he described as personal or parochial interest.
In the National Chairman’s entourage are, the Deputy National Chairman South, National Vice Chairman Southeast, the National Deputy Secretary, Deputy National Organizing secretary, Personnel Assistance to National Chairman among others.
