June 15 (Newshour.com.ng) – A notable and independent pro – democracy body known as Imo People for Positive Change (IMPOCHA), has proclaimed that an opinion poll it conducted had put the Accord party governorship candidate, Ikenga Johnjude Okere, way ahead of the other candidates for the November 11, 2023 election.
In a release, signed by IMPOCHA coordinator, Prince Dikachi Ihebuako, and made available to journalists in Owerri, the group revealed that the Accord party candidate appealed to the youths, women, religious bodies and even professional associations than the other candidates in a comprehensive and well guided opinion poll it recently conducted.
According to Ihebuako, “We chose 14 candidates who have been making waves and have INEC clearance. We took thier names and parties to the public, presenting what they have been campaigning about, and asked the masses to make their selections through voting.
“This engagement lastest for one week. When we collated the result, we discovered that the Accord party candidate, Ikenga Johnjude Okere had about 67 per cent of the votes across the state, with others trailing behind”.
The coordinator said there was a chart which had “why do you prefer the candidate of your choice”? And the answer most of the respondents made available, according to him, was, “Ikenga, Accord party candidate, looks progressive”.
It was on that premise, he stated, that informed his group to use the phrase “Think of progressive Imo, think of Ikenga” as the result of the poll.
He, therefore, called on Imo electorate to cast thier votes massively for the Accord party candidate, Ikenga Johnjude Okere during the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
