– As Eze Agumanu celebrates new yam festival.

August 24 (Newshour.com.ng) – The Palace of the traditional ruler of Nekede Ancient Kingdom,No.4 Bus Stop, Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State,HRM Eze Stephen Nkem Agumanu was electrified on 21st August,2023 as the President-General of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community,Hon. Okechukwu Opara was conferred “Dike-ri-oha Nma”chieftaincy title.
People from all walks of life including cultural dance groups were present at the Monarch’s Palace as the traditional ruler seized the occasion to celebrate his 2023 edition of new yam festival.
However, the President-General who was honoured as the “Dike-ri-oha Nma 1″of Nekede Ancient Kingdom was accompanied by his traditional ruler,HRH Eze Morrison Soronnadi James Ekeh(Omadike of Umuoma),women and youths that made the occasion very colorful.
Administering the chieftaincy title rites, the traditional ruler of Nekede Ancient Kingdom,Eze Agumanu described Hon. Opara as a worthy son of Nekede who had in all spheres contributed to the development of the Community.
He stated that the chieftaincy title would spur the PG to do more urging others to emulate his lifestyle.
Earlier, the traditional ruler of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community,HRH Eze Morrison Soronnadi James Ekeh described the newly conferred Chief as his great son whom he is well pleased thanking his counterpart Monarch,Eze Agumanu for rewarding a hardworking and selfless community leader.
In a swift reaction, the PG thanked Eze Agumanu,his traditional ruler,Eze Ekeh,women and youths of Nekede for honouring and celebrating him promising to continue living life worthy of emulation.
The highlights on the occasion were the displaying of different cultural dance groups both at the Eze’s Palace and the PG’s Okwu,Umuoma Nekede Compound.
