The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State,Hon. Barr. Chidi Okechukwu has described Governor Hope Uzodimma’s newly created Development Centres as pinacea for rapid rural development.
Speaking to journalists,Barr. Okechukwu attributed the Development Centres to a complimentary effort initiated by the Governor towards drawing government closer to the rural dwellers.
He noted that the Centres will take care of local/remote needs of the citizens as their coordinators were carefully selected from the grassroots.
According to him,functions of the Development Centres Coordinators and wards councillors can never clash as they will work in synergy to achieve a unity of “purpose”. “For instance,we have three Development Centres in Ehime Mbano, and all their coordinators are grassroot oriented people. They will work in synergy with the traditional rulers and President-Generals to curb insecurity in my area. Let me seize this opportunity to thank our amiable Governor for extending government to the rural areas.
And Ehime Mbano people are happy and will continue to support him”, the IMC Chairman promised.
Reacting on the ongoing renovation of primary healthcare Centres in eventually all the 305 electoral wards in Imo State,Hon. Barr. Chidi Okechukwu disclosed that he has completed the project expressing happiness that his people can now have access to quality primary healthcare.
